Tom Howley Showroom Spotlight – Tunbridge Wells First Floor Launch

Some towns capture the imagination, and the delightful spa town of Tunbridge Wells is one such place. With its exciting mix of boutiques, trendy coffee houses, choice of excellent restaurants and green parks, we’re proud to have this picturesque town as one of our Tom Howley showroom locations.

Kitchen Collections on Display

Our Tunbridge Wells showroom has recently undergone a remarkable transformation, with a new floor of inspired kitchen designs to explore.

We wanted to create a space that replicated the full ground floor of a house, helping our clients to get a sense of all the spaces Tom Howley can help within their homes. As well as the all-important kitchen space, the new floor includes a boot room/ utility, walk-in pantry, gin bar and a TV media wall. Our main objective was to feed the imagination of everyone who visits and demonstrate the quality they will get when choosing us.

Creative Design Director, Tom Howley.

As you move throughout the space, you’ll notice how we’ve embraced more adventurous interior schemes and colours. Our Kavanagh kitchen takes centre stage, painted in our moody hue, Nightshade, with pops of playful pink. These adventurous colours also run through to our walk-in pantry, creating a bold yet cohesive look.

As well as a striking colour scheme, this show-stopping kitchen features a large central island with wine storage and sociable seating, open shelving with our new reeded back panels, an impressive run of integrated Liebherr appliances, and beautifully crafted Kavanagh cabinetry adorned with burnished brass handles.

Just off the main Kavanagh kitchen area, we have introduced a walk-in pantry packed with inspiring storage and organisation ideas. It certainly meets the demands of modern living. You’ll find our inspiring Hartford boot room through the adjacent door. This space is finished in our grounding blue, Azurite, with dusted oak details and modern matt black handles. We’ve also installed an EverydaySafe safe in here, the first one to be installed in a Tom Howley showroom. This intelligent feature is discreetly hidden in a drawer providing a place to store car keys and other valuables safely.

“Family living these days is centred around entertaining at home. As you look past our Kavanagh kitchen, you’ll see our sophisticated media wall, formal dining space and bespoke bar area – all spaces that enhance modern family living with something for everyone from children to adults.”

Creative Design Director, Tom Howley.

Our Butler media wall and dining area are in stunning contrast to the moody hues of our Kavanagh design. The run of cabinetry has been hand finished in our classic neutral, Tansy, with flashes of Inky Sky on the backboards and shelving. It’s an inspiring example of how you can introduce colour throughout the home, without overwhelming a space. Dusted oak elements and sumptuous dining chairs convey comfort, and the satin nickel handles paired with chic metallic decor add a contemporary edge to this stunning area.

Opposite our TV wall is a bespoke gin bar that has been cleverly designed to look like a piece of stand-alone furniture. To create a cohesive look, it’s painted in the same blue, Inky Sky. This swoon-worthy bar features moody backlighting, a mirrored backsplash and a Silestone Pearl Jasmine worktop. Brass hardware and a patinated brass Quooker tap add a touch of glamour, working harmoniously with the blue.

Meet the Team

With our new floor now open, we thought we’d catch up with our Showroom Manager, Victoria and talented Tunbridge Wells designers to see what they have to say about this exciting addition.

What makes this showroom different to other Tom Howley showrooms?

Spanning two floors, it’s a space like no other. You’ll see beautiful examples of all six kitchen collections, including our well-loved classic Hartford, to our stylish Kavanagh painted in an alluring combination of Nightshade and Pink Dusk.

What are some of the standout design features of the new floor?

The bespoke designs in our showroom introduce you to the quality and expert craftsmanship that has given Tom Howley its excellent reputation. The recent transformation showcases the breadth of our kitchen design options and innovative features for other areas of the home. There’s inspiration everywhere to suit a range of lifestyles and property eras. We’ll never tire of stepping into our striking blue boot room or presenting client designs in front of the elegant built-in TV area.

How do you feel the new floor will enhance the client’s visit?

The layout and flow of the new floor allow you to visualise how our cabinetry can flow between multiple areas of the home. We’ve also been able to showcase bold new interior schemes, state-of-the-art appliances and some of our latest design innovations, including our reeded back panels, modern handle designs and intelligent safe storage that we know clients will love.

Guide to Tunbridge Wells

If you want to turn your visit to our Tunbridge Wells showroom into a memorable day out, there are plenty of places to see in the surrounding neighbourhood.

One of our favourite spots is Juliet’s, a café serving the most delicious cakes. The Ivy is also a firm favourite of ours, located opposite our showroom. The Pantiles is just around the corner and, on summer days, it plays host to ‘Jazz on the Pantiles’, a summer festival that has been running for more than 20 years. For shopping, stroll along the old town high street where we are located, or Chapple Place, a cute, cobbled road full of interesting little shops.

Have a peek around Lumière, a fantastic gallery showcasing high-end lighting designs. Just a few doors away from us, we often work with Lumière to find the perfect light solutions for our kitchens. If you’re looking for interior inspiration, Sophie Watson Designs is a beautiful store packed with characterful homeware, hand-crafted ceramics and beautiful fabrics.

If shopping isn’t your thing, pay a visit to Chalybeate Spring, one of the reasons Tunbridge Wells became a tourist hotspot for the rich and famous all those years ago. Pashley Manor Gardens is a great place to spend a few hours on a lovely spring day, and we’re sure you’ll find plenty of inspiration here for your gardens at home.
