At Tom Howley, we know that every kitchen that leaves our doors is special. They’re the product of home design professionals, experienced surveyors, master joiners, and expert painters.
But what makes us more than just “another kitchen showroom”, or “any other joiner”?
The difference is the feeling our final product gives you day in, day out, long after the installation team have packed their bags and left you to enjoy your new space.
And this is how we do it.

In 2004, founders Tom Howley and Mark Clayton had a vision to create a kitchen company that doesn’t just make beautiful kitchens, but creates spaces that actually make life better.
Starting with our first showroom in Altrincham and a small workshop, Tom and Mark worked together to create an unparalleled bespoke product, backed by design that pays attention to the unique quirks and lifestyles of each individual client.
In the years since, we’ve designed and installed thousands of kitchens, expanded our showroom network across the country, and moved to our Peak District workshop, where every Tom Howley kitchen is made using traditional techniques and genuine human skill.
Even as we’ve grown to become one of the UK’s largest bespoke kitchen brands, we still know that people can make or break your renovation experience.

That’s why our client experience is delivered through local showrooms, local designers and local installation teams, who take ownership of every project from first conversation to final fitting, as our client Lara observed during the transformation of her Somerset cottage kitchen:
“I think that every single person in the chain was so committed and loyal to the company, the design, the quality, and they all, without invite, explained how much they loved the product and how much they cared about it.”
Our founders knew when they started in this business that we couldn’t rely solely on good design or strong manufacturing alone like some kitchen companies. Both disciplines had to work in harmony.
Our designers work up and down the country, supported by our fantastic showroom network, to create kitchen designs that fit your home, character, lifestyle, and budget, showing clients what a Tom Howley kitchen can really look like.
Today, Tom and Mark are still key figures in Tom Howley, keeping the values and standards that have been at our heart since 2004 very much still alive today. That looks like every design we create crossing Tom’s desk before it goes into production, and Mark walking the workshop floor most days.
When a Tom Howley order reaches the workshop, it’s handled by dozens of experts in Glossop, in the Peak District.
It’s a busy place – there are around 75 kitchens being made in the workshop at any time – but each one is given the care and attention it deserves, from start to finish. In fact, every order has its own physical file of paperwork with a name and a number that follows your kitchen around the workshop to guarantee nothing is missed, and that every piece is perfect.

Here, we bring each element of a kitchen to life, from full cabinetry and shelving to baseboards and drawer runners.
We invest in cutting-edge technology, where it helps, to improve our product, but tradition and human skill are still paramount to our process.
The thing that makes us different – and makes a Tom Howley kitchen special – is the feeling. When a space is designed around you, everyday life feels easier. When it’s designed for quality, you can be confident it will last you for years to come. When it’s designed with your personal style in mind, it feels like home.
Soon, we’ll be taking you on the journey from timber to table, going behind the scenes at the Tom Howley workshop. We hope you’ll join us.
