Tom Howley Showroom Spotlight – Introducing Altrincham

Altrincham has always been one of the most desirable places to live in Greater Manchester, so it came as no surprise that The Times recently listed it as one of the top areas to live in the UK. This thriving suburb is home to leafy streets dotted with seriously stunning properties, vibrant independent shops, a bustling historic market, creative pop-ups, refined restaurants, and a beautiful Tom Howley showroom.

Recently, we sat down with our Altrincham showroom team to shed a little light on this inspiring space and its flourishing surrounding area.

How would you describe the Tom Howley Altrincham showroom?

The Altrincham showroom was the first one Tom Howley opened when the company started, gradually expanding and honed over the years to house three full kitchen displays. Designed as complete spaces, it’s easy to lose yourself and think you’re already at home. Our friendly and knowledgeable team have a wealth of experience on projects of various sizes and are here to make designing your dream space an easy and fuss-free experience.

Why is it important for clients to visit a showroom when they are planning their project?

Once you have viewed our projects online or in our beautiful brochure, the next step is to visit one of our showrooms. The kitchen displays are a truly immersive experience, and we consider it essential to see and feel the furniture for yourself and be inspired by the key pieces we have on display. There’s the opportunity to engage with one of our designers and ask questions relevant to your project. Find out more about any features you may have seen in photos, or test out colour and material combinations to see how they may fit into your space.

The displays in our Altrincham showroom complement each other and serve as different design inspiration. For example, there are three islands in the showroom, each showcasing various uses and styles. We’ve incorporated some of our signature pieces, including impressive double pantry designs, intelligent internal storage solutions and sociable seating ideas.

Do you have a favourite kitchen display in the showroom?

Our Harrington display has the wow factor! It has recently been updated with a new Avocado colour scheme, Tom Howley exclusive handles finished in burnished brass and a suite of Miele 7-series cooking and Sub Zero cooling appliances. The walnut interiors and Caesarstone Calacatta worktops give this kitchen the rich luxurious feeling you’d expect from a Tom Howley kitchen. Beautiful and clever cabinetry options such as the large well-stocked pantry with optional engraved details alongside cutting-edge appliances mean this kitchen carries all the hallmarks of a real showstopper.

Guide to the Altrincham Area

Based on your local knowledge, do you have any recommendations for places to eat, shop and visit?

Altrincham has seen a real rejuvenation in recent years, and the Stamford Quarter houses a host of well-known high street and local retailers, along with a vibrant food scene. Within a few minutes’ walk of the showroom is the Altrincham Market, a central hub of the town which is always a hive of activity. The whole area constantly evolves in line with the changing of the seasons. Pick up fresh local produce, a beautiful bunch of flowers, artisan homewares and some of the most delicious food Altrincham has to offer. Nearby you also have other incredible eateries such as Blanchflower, The Con Club and Porta Tapas.

The Garrick Playhouse is great for taking in a show. Nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site Jodrell Bank is a must for anyone interested in science and the cosmos. For anyone who appreciates a National Trust property, you have to visit Dunham Massey of Tatton Park Estate just 15 minutes by car.

Suppose you wish to stay in the area a little longer. In that case, a short tram ride away will whisk you into Manchester city centre, which has many excellent dining options from casual to Michelin star, along with fantastic shopping, hotels and nightlife.
