Tom Howley Showroom Spotlight – Edinburgh

A short walk from Edinburgh’s historic city centre, you’ll find Stockbridge. This bustling village-type area is full of luscious open parks and streets lined with original architecture – home to quaint cafes, trendy gastropubs and Tom Howley’s northernmost showroom.

Kitchen Collections on Display

Each showroom is unique, and in this case, the grand nature of the space allowed us to introduce larger designs whilst still keeping the quirk and character of the building. As soon as you step off the street, you’re immersed in a space that feels homely, with three full kitchens on display. The natural light that floods through the windows, impressive islands that create a sense of grandeur, and ample storage with working appliances, allow everyone that visits to visualise how they would use the space in a real-life home setting.

Our stunning Kavanagh design will catch your eye upon entering the showroom, with its timeless look that transcends both traditional charm and contemporary cool. The impressive kitchen makes the most of its footprint by incorporating a beautiful, oversized island, inspiring storage solutions and a handy bifold breakfast pantry. In contrast to the rest of the showroom, the dark Nightshade paint colour adds a stylish touch and striking depth to the space.

Set beneath a run of large windows, you’ll find our white Summerville kitchen painted in a classic combination of Orchid and Marjoram. The curved edges of the pillars and worktops provide smooth finesse, free of sharp edges. Subtle detailing in the woodwork also creates extraordinary features like the delicate glazing bars in the upper cabinets – touches of elegance that transform a kitchen into a beautiful style statement. As you move through the display, you can delve behind the doors of one of our famous double pantry designs, or take a peek within the handcrafted kitchen cabinets and drawers, full of cleverly designed storage features and integrated appliances.

Each display in our Edinburgh showroom complements the other, yet has its own story, serving as different inspiration as you move through the space. In contrast to our white Summerville design, you’ll find our ever-popular Hartford kitchen painted in Iris. This pastel blue hue is perfect for areas with lots of daylight. The nature of this colour gives this traditional kitchen a stylish contemporary twist whilst complementing features such as the open shelving, bespoke butcher’s block and classic chimney breast design.

What are some of the standout design features within the showroom?

The kitchens on display complement the grand features of the building and the historic area in which the showroom is located. Our Summerville display is always a firm favourite to showcase our double pantry, with a hidden coffee maker, personalised engraved drawers and an island with an off-set circular table. On trend, burnished brass features can be seen on our stunning Kavanagh kitchen, painted in our striking Nightshade paint colour.

Guide to Edinburgh

“Within walking distance from the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Stockbridge area is filled with elegant Georgian and Victorian terraced houses, quality eateries, delicatessen and boutique clothes shops”, says Joanna. “Tom Kitchin’s restaurant, the Scran & Scallie, is one of our favourites. Local cafes and trendy gastropubs are also in abundance, so whether you are looking for fine dining or a quick bite, you’ll find somewhere to satisfy your cravings. If you’re out and about or looking to cook up a feast at home – on Sundays, the area hosts Stockbridge Market. Here you can treat yourself to artisan goods from local producers and craft artists.”
